Microwave Bacon Cooker

I don’t know about you but I can’t resist the taste of crispy bacon straight from the pan. Nobody has time these
days to deal with the mess of frying up bacon so there are precooked bacon options that you can buy in the store.
However, it just doesn’t taste the same. But fortunately someone else realized this and invented the
microwave bacon cooker.
Before I get in to mentioning specific products and brands I want to give you a cheap and easy way to microwave
bacon without having to buy any kitchen gadgets. You will need some paper towels, a microwave plate, and of course
your favorite bacon. Basically you will lay a layer of kitchen paper, then 3 or 4 slices of bacon in a single
layer, and top it off with another layer of kitchen paper. Microwaves vary in power so it’s best to play around
with it until you get it right. I suggest you try 2 minutes to start and then in 1 minute intervals after that. If
you need to cook a lot of bacon then you may be able to layer bacon, paper towel, bacon, paper towel. Cooking bacon
like this in the microwave will keep the bacon from curling and for the most part, free of a lot of the grease you
would traditionally be eating.
However, if you’re like me then you will want a proper microwave bacon cooker. They don’t cost a lot, in fact
the presto 05100 microwave bacon cooker costs less than $15.

- You can cook 10 strips of bacon at once by laying the bacon over the racks
- The grease falls off the bacon and in to the collection tray. If you want you could use this grease for
cooking at a later date
- The handles on the tray are designed to stay cool even after it has been in the microwave
- Dishwasher safe
The only downside that I have come across is the fact that the bacon has a tendency to curl and if you have longer
bacon it will hang too far down in to the drip tray.
Whether you are fixing up a sandwich or need crispy bacon for a salad, you will take great pleasure with a
microwave bacon cooker because it is very clean, quick to use, and will be a bit more health
friendly because the grease drips off it while it cooks.
